Terms of Service
UnixConverter is free to use. These terms outline acceptable use, availability expectations, and how to get in touch if something looks off.
1. Service description
UnixConverter provides client-heavy tools for converting timestamps (Unix, LDAP, WebKit, hex, timezone shifts) with optional batch features. The hosted version is offered “as-is” without uptime guarantees.
2. Acceptable use
- No abuse, scraping that harms availability, or attempts to degrade service.
- No injecting malicious payloads or trying to exfiltrate data from other users (there is none stored).
- Do not misrepresent the service or pass it off as your own without attribution.
- Respect rate limits if we add them; they exist to keep the free tier healthy.
3. Availability and changes
We aim for high uptime but may update, pause, or sunset features without notice. Major changes will be reflected in release notes and these terms. Self-hosting remains available if you need stability.
4. No warranties
The service is provided without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Validate critical conversions before using them in production systems.
5. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UnixConverter is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or loss of data, revenue, or business arising from use of the service.
6. Intellectual property
The UnixConverter brand and original content remain our property. You can self-host under the project license, but do not remove branding unless the license explicitly allows it.
7. Self-hosting
You may deploy your own instance following our Docker instructions. When self-hosting, you are responsible for compliance, security, and uptime of your deployment.
8. Termination
We may restrict access if usage threatens stability, security, or violates acceptable use. You can always run a self-hosted version if the hosted service is unavailable to you.
9. Changes to these terms
We will update this page with a revision date when terms change. Continued use after updates implies acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the hosted service and switch to self-hosting.
